Quality Control Analyst
Quincy Bioscience is seeking a Quality Control Analyst. The right candidate will have experience in analytical technologies such as HPLC, SDS PAGE, and other protein chemistry methods. Furthermore, we seek someone with a basic understanding of documentation control, auditing and batch record review, and is meticulous in filing paperwork. The person may be expected to provide support to quality assurance as well.

Job Duties:
  • Responsible for conducting routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process production testing and end-point release testing.
  • Compile and report data for documentation of test procedures and report abnormalities.
  • Revise and update standard operating procedures and perform special projects on analytical and instrument problem solving.
  • Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
  • Develop, validate, and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and prepares documentation for inspection testing procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring conformance to in-house specifications and good manufacturing practices and may conduct training programs.
  • Responsible for calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment and systems and for assisting in the selection, specification, and negotiation of competitive pricing of equipment.
  • Maintain all of the documentation pertaining to qualification and verification and serves as an information resource.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical sciences or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control/quality assurance systems working in a GMP analytical laboratory.
  • Analytical competency in RP HPLC, SDS PAGE, wet chemistry techniques, activity assays and some experience in protein purification techniques.
  • Experience with column chromatography, biochemical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, spectrophotometer, HPLC, IEX, SEC, HIC.
  • Experience with microbial assays a plus.
  • Solid Math and Analytical Skills.
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft software.

Controller

General Purpose

Reporting to the chief financial officer (CFO), the Controller is responsible for oversight of all financial accounting and reporting activities. The Controller leads all day-to-day finance operations and supervises the accounting team in the areas of the financial accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages all accounting operations, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and legal requirements.
  • Oversees the activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Oversee and assure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Establish, monitor and enforce accounting policies, procedures, internal controls and safeguards.
  • Prepares accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and analyses.
  • Coordinates the annual budget and rolling forecast processes.
  • Coordinates all audit and tax return activities with external auditors and tax accountants.
  • Monitors compliance with debt covenants.
  • Assist in business risk management analyses and strategies.
  • Assist in banking relationship management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.  Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree, Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness.
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data/information.
  • Exhibit good time management, ability to meet deadlines and to work well under pressure high business ethics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
