Laboratory Protein Chemist/Biotechnologist
Quincy Bioscience is seeking a Laboratory Protein Chemist/Biotechnologist to assist with the preparation and purification of protein in a laboratory and industrial setting. The Laboratory Protein Chemist/Biotechnologist is responsible for the execution of commercial laboratory and manufacturing processes according to established electronic work instructions and production records for the manufacture of high value proteins in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Job Duties:
- Develop protein chemistry analytical procedures
- Monitor production process and operate process equipment to improve production yields
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing/Lab Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor manufacturing assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
- Perform analytical testing
- Maintain a professional and productive relationship with area management and co workers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences such as Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology
- Experience with column chromatography, biochemical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, spectrophotometer, HPLC, IEX, SEC, HIC
- Solid Math and Analytical Skills
- Proficient utilizing Microsoft software
- Proficient in the operation of primary production equipment i.e. bioreactors, chromatography systems, media or buffer preparation equipment etc. Proficient in use of process automation systems
- Experience preferred working with downstream purification bioprocess steps
This position is non-exempt and is full-time.
